Wine Spectator Notes : Not shy on fruit, with dark plum and blackberry notes carried by a slightly toothy mix of licorice, plum skin and toast. Fleshes out a bit on the finish. Drink now through 2022.
Robert parker Notes : The Domaine Virginie Thunévin, the vineyard which belongs to Jean-Luc’s daughter, has a pleasing blackberry and cassis-scented nose, simple but nicely integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, ever so slightly dry tannin that renders the finish rather conservative and foursquare. However, even at this early juncture you can appreciate the balance and length.

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2014 Virginie de Valandraud offers gorgeous black cherries, mulberries and black raspberry scents with hints of star anise, violets and cumin seed. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is firmly structured with firm, velvety tannins and tons of freshness, lifting the perfumed black fruits to a long finish.
