Red               French         Languedoc-Roussillon – Cabardes        Merlot, Syrah

• The Chateau La Bastide RougePeyre is located in Pennautier, 10 km north-west of Carcassonne. The same family has been cultivating the Chateau’s vines for nine generations. Today it is the Count and Countess Dominique de Lorgeril who passionately follow the development of the wines. • Cabardes is one of the smallest AOCs of the Languedoc and particularly interesting because AOC rules mandate both Atlantic and Mediterranean grape varietals in the wines. • The two wines on the Indian market are the Cuvee Classique, a blend of Syrah and Merlot and Cuvee Prestige, a blend of Grenache with Cabernet Sauvignon. Both are interesting and complimentary combinations. The wines are delicious and are able to deliver particularly outstanding value.

Vintage: 2016
Alcohol Level: 13
Serving Temperature: 16 - 18
Closure: Cork

The different grape varieties give it great audacious flavors and well-tanned tannins. The purplish red of her dress is of a good density. The intensity of the nose is mainly focused on aromas of black fruits, with a hint of cocoa. An attack on the palate surprisingly tender, with a fruity recalling the nose and ending on peppery notes.

To serve between 16 and 17 Deg C, this powerful wine will agree well with a straw of deer with cranberries, a tournedos with morels or simply, a rib of grilled beef.
